capturing a real swingingly good time.

i was jogging one day through my favorite canyon when i noticed that someone happened to have set up a swing, hanging from my favorite tree, that was in this favorite canyon of mine. instantly my brain went to pictures. i had to take them there. i saw the entire scenes in many variations laid out right before me and honestly i had no option other than to make it happen. and from there, this amazing swinging sunday sprung. a fantastic day spent in the company of my amazing and creative sisters, with paints, swings, parasols, champagne, food, and lots and lots and lots of love and laughter!
while getting together the props that i wanted to use i ran across my old camera. now i will be honest in telling you that i was seconds away of taking the old 35mm out for a ride but in the end decided against it. i did however find my old filters. i really thought that they would make an awesome addition to the photos, give them that vintage rustic feel that i was trying to achieve.
anyways, here are a few of the images captured from today. not surprising in any sort of way, the candid photos came out WAY better than any of the "posed" photos. just goes to show the value in what it is that i like to do, and that is to "capture" real moments in time. today really validated the fact that i am not and really don't want to be a studio photographer. i'm finding that perhaps that is where my talent lies...hmmm, go figure.

xoxo.
